What a day for our 2nd graders! Today, our little explorers took learning outdoors for an unforgettable field trip to the WSD Discovery Center. 🍁🏹 From hitting the trails to trying out new skills, our students were busy all day long: 🥾 Hiking through nature and taking in the beautiful fall leaves and fresh autumn air. 🏹 Archery practice—testing out focus, patience, and aim with bows and arrows! 🔬 Microscope discoveries—getting a close-up look at leaves, bugs, and treasures found on the trail. 🍁 Autumn science—learning the fascinating science behind why leaves change color! 🔥 Campfire sweet treats— around the fire roasting delicious marshmallows. We love seeing our students curious, active, and connecting with the natural world. Huge thanks to the WSD Discovery Center staff and all our amazing chaperones for making this day possible! 🌟 #FieldTripFun #OutdoorLearning #ElementaryScience #WSDDiscoveryCenter #FutureScientists #HandsOnLearning

🎉 Fun Run in the Books, but We're Not Done Yet! 👟✨ Today’s fun run event is officially wrapped up, and we had an absolute blast seeing our students run, smile, and give it their all! A massive thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported our My Booster fundraiser and today's big event. Our big goal is $40,000, and while we've had incredible support, we still have a little bit further to go to cross that finish line! 🏁 The good news? We are keeping donations open for one more week! If you haven’t had a chance to give yet—or if you'd like to help us push past our goal—there’s still time to make a difference for our students and school. Every single contribution counts! 👉 mybooster.com Thank you for always rallying behind our kids! ❤️🏫

🧪 Matter matters in 5th Grade! 🧊💧💨 Our fifth graders rolled up their sleeves this week and dove headfirst into physical science. Instead of just reading about the world around us, they turned their classroom into a laboratory for hands-on investigations! Students are actively exploring the three main states of matter and discovering how properties change right before their eyes: Solids: Investigating fixed shapes, volumes, and structural traits. Liquids: Testing how they flow and take the shape of any container. Gases: Capturing and observing the invisible power of vapor and air in action! Watching these young scientists question, test, and analyze data has been incredible. Who knew learning about molecules could be this much fun? #STEMeducation #5thGradeScience #HandsOnLearning #FutureScientists #ElementaryScience

¡Hola a todos! 🔬✨ Science class isn't just about formulas—it’s an adventure, especially in Sra. Garduno's Spanish Immersion classroom! 🌟 Our students spent the week blending scientific discovery with language immersion, diving headfirst into hands-on experiments while speaking Spanish! From testing hypotheses to analyzing results, watching their curiosity take flight in two languages has been nothing short of inspiring.

⚡ Science in Action⚡ Mrs. Anderson’s class turned up the energy today—literally! Our future scientists spent the day exploring how energy transfers from one object to another through hands-on experiments. The energy in the room was contagious! Big thank you to Mrs. Anderson for making science so engaging and interactive for our students. 👏 #ScienceClass #HandsOnLearning #STEMeducation #EnergyTransfer #ClassroomHighlights

Math comes to life when learning is hands-on! 🧮✨ Mrs. Weston’s class had an absolute blast mastering place value today. From building numbers with base-ten blocks to racing through interactive place value games, our students proved that understanding hundreds, tens, and ones is way more fun when you get to play with the math! 🎉 Physics in Action! 🏆

Mrs. Anderson’s class took on the ultimate 3-Cup Drop Challenge today! The mission seemed simple: pull the paper out fast enough to make all three stacked cups drop straight down at the exact same time.

The real secret? Inertia! 🧪⚡️

When you yank the paper out horizontally with enough speed, friction doesn't have time to pull the cups sideways. gravity takes over, and BOOM—a perfect vertical drop!

It took a few flying cups, plenty of laughs, and a lot of trial and error, but our student scientists nailed the timing. Check out the photos below! 👇

What an incredible first week at Majestic Elementary! Our students came back ready to learn, reconnect with friends, and lay the foundation for an amazing year ahead. This year, our theme is "Building Kindness Brick by Brick." 🏗️✨ Just like a Lego masterpiece, a strong and welcoming school community takes time, teamwork, and every single piece fitting together. We can't wait to see how our students practice empathy, help one another, and construct a culture of respect all year long. Thank you to our amazing teachers, staff, and families for making Week 1 such a success. Meet Mrs. Moore - Our new 5th-grade teacher

Hi! I am Karianne Moore. I am so excited to be part of this wonderful school as a teacher. I love teaching and working with students and watching them succeed and thrive in their learning and goals. I was a Kindergarten teacher for 3 years at North Park Elementary. Then, I took a break to raise my 4 bonus kids ( 3 boys and 1 girl) and 3 children ( 2 boys and 1 girl) of my own. I have worked for the Weber School District as a substitute for 3 years and then as a teacher aide for the last 2 years. I also worked as a preschool teacher for 4 years. I am an aerobic instructor at VASA. I love every element of teaching.

When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and kids. I love boating, hiking, crafting, coaching soccer, and exploring new and fun places with my family. I am excited to start this new chapter of my life and work with students within my own classroom. I am a dedicated teacher who wants students to succeed and feel valued. I am excited to work with these amazing students and this community.

Meet Sr. Potrero - our new 3rd Grade Spanish Immersion teacher Hello!  I am Senor Potrero. I am the Spanish half of the 3rd Grade Dual Immersion team. I am originally from Puebla Mexico. My family lived in San Diego for 10 years before moving to Utah five years ago. So far it has been a good change from the ocean waves to the mountains and snowy winters. We have two boys and both are part of the Dual Immersion program here at Majestic. We are a soccer family and enjoy watching soccer games live and on TV. I have a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Cal State San Marcos in San Diego. I’ve worked at Majestic for the past 5 years as an aide. This will be my first year as a teacher and I’m excited to work with your students!

I have learned to paint, fence, and even play some instruments! I come from a family of teachers, and love teaching! I went to school at Weber State where I got my degree in Elementary Education. Meanwhile, I was working right here at Majestic. I'm excited to finally be working in the classroom!

Meet Mrs Murray - Our new 3rd/4th grade teacher. I’m so excited to be part of this wonderful school community! Teaching is truly my passion. I taught 6th grade for three years before taking time away to raise my four children, and for the past three years I’ve worked in Weber School District as a substitute and an aide. I’m thrilled and ready to be back in the classroom! When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family and cheering my kids on at their various activities. I also enjoy hiking, gardening, decorating, soccer, and reading. I believe learning happens best in a warm, encouraging environment, and I’m dedicated to creating a classroom where every student feels valued and inspired. I’m excited to get to know all of you and to have a great year together!
