Mrs. Anderson’s class took on the ultimate 3-Cup Drop Challenge today! The mission seemed simple: pull the paper out fast enough to make all three stacked cups drop straight down at the exact same time.

The real secret? Inertia! 🧪⚡️

When you yank the paper out horizontally with enough speed, friction doesn't have time to pull the cups sideways. gravity takes over, and BOOM—a perfect vertical drop!

It took a few flying cups, plenty of laughs, and a lot of trial and error, but our student scientists nailed the timing. Check out the photos below! 👇

Meet Mrs. Moore - Our new 5th-grade teacher

Hi! I am Karianne Moore. I am so excited to be part of this wonderful school as a teacher. I love teaching and working with students and watching them succeed and thrive in their learning and goals. I was a Kindergarten teacher for 3 years at North Park Elementary. Then, I took a break to raise my 4 bonus kids ( 3 boys and 1 girl) and 3 children ( 2 boys and 1 girl) of my own. I have worked for the Weber School District as a substitute for 3 years and then as a teacher aide for the last 2 years. I also worked as a preschool teacher for 4 years. I am an aerobic instructor at VASA. I love every element of teaching.

When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and kids. I love boating, hiking, crafting, coaching soccer, and exploring new and fun places with my family. I am excited to start this new chapter of my life and work with students within my own classroom. I am a dedicated teacher who wants students to succeed and feel valued. I am excited to work with these amazing students and this community.

Meet Sr. Potrero - our new 3rd Grade Spanish Immersion teacher Hello!  I am Senor Potrero. I am the Spanish half of the 3rd Grade Dual Immersion team. I am originally from Puebla Mexico. My family lived in San Diego for 10 years before moving to Utah five years ago. So far it has been a good change from the ocean waves to the mountains and snowy winters. We have two boys and both are part of the Dual Immersion program here at Majestic. We are a soccer family and enjoy watching soccer games live and on TV. I have a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Cal State San Marcos in San Diego. I’ve worked at Majestic for the past 5 years as an aide. This will be my first year as a teacher and I’m excited to work with your students!

Meet Mr. Olsen - our new 5th grade teacher Hello! I am Mr. Olsen and I am very excited to be teaching this year! I love spending time with my family, including things like hunting, fishing, and board/video games! In my free time, I also love to try new and interesting hobbies. I have learned to paint, fence, and even play some instruments! I come from a family of teachers, and love teaching! I went to school at Weber State where I got my degree in Elementary Education. Meanwhile, I was working right here at Majestic. I'm excited to finally be working in the classroom!

Meet Mrs Murray - Our new 3rd/4th grade teacher. I’m so excited to be part of this wonderful school community! Teaching is truly my passion. I taught 6th grade for three years before taking time away to raise my four children, and for the past three years I’ve worked in Weber School District as a substitute and an aide. I’m thrilled and ready to be back in the classroom! When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family and cheering my kids on at their various activities. I also enjoy hiking, gardening, decorating, soccer, and reading. I believe learning happens best in a warm, encouraging environment, and I’m dedicated to creating a classroom where every student feels valued and inspired. I’m excited to get to know all of you and to have a great year together!

🎭🌟 CURTAIN CALL FOR 2ND GRADE! 🌟🎭 This past week, our talented 2nd graders took center stage to perform their spectacular puppet shows! These young puppeteers did an absolutely incredible job sharing their stories with their classmates and parents. 🦁✨ A huge shoutout to our Spanish Immersion classes, who performed their entire shows beautifully in Spanish! ¡Excelente trabajo! 👏🌎 We are so proud of the creativity, teamwork, and confidence our students showed on stage. 🏁🏎️ START YOUR ENGINES! 🏎️🏁 Tuesday, Majestic held its first annual Kindie 500, and the cuteness levels completely broke the speed limit! 🚦 Our creative kindergarteners have been hard at work designing and building their very own custom cardboard cars. ✨ A Magical Thank You to our PTA! ✨ ​Our Teacher Appreciation Week has been nothing short of a "Happiest Place on Earth" experience! A massive shout-out to our incredible PTA for sprinkling some serious pixie dust on our staff all week long. 🏰✨ ​Here’s a look at the magic they whipped up: ​🍍 The Tiki Room Treatment: We took a trip to Adventureland with refreshing Dole Whips that had us feeling those tropical vibes! ​💐 Main Street Florals: Beautiful flower bouquets turned our classrooms into a blooming wonderland. ​🍳 A Breakfast Worthy of a Prince(ss): A delicious morning feast that gave us the "Goofy" amount of energy we needed to power through the day! ​💆 Relax like Ratatouille: The massages were a total dream—we finally found our Zen (without having to fight any dragons). ​🥤 Wonderland Hydration: A "Mad Tea Party" worth of drinks and treats kept us fueled and smiling. ​To our PTA: Thank you for being the Mickey to our Minnie and for making us feel like the protagonists of our own story.
