Community Council Meeting Notes 1/31/2024

In attendance: Amanda King, Angie Francom, Jeramie Chatfield, Jarvis Pace, Liz Putnam,

1. Parent night for digital safety and strengthening family relationships - February or March

Amanda taking charge but will delegate

2. Governor Cox Cellphone Letter

People in attendance like the letter from Governor Cox
What do we want to have as the policy here at Majestic
Orion has tightened down cell phone use - should we match it
We will modify the cell phone use policy as a council
3. Look over Trustlands budget - start thinking about 24-25 budget

Goal was set at 100% of students make growth - make it more realistic
2023-24 School goal is set at 75% growth in reading and 76% growth in math
$12,000 was set aside for PLC conferences - we aren’t going to be able to do it
this year. Libby suggested getting subs for the whole grade to give them
a day to work on CFAs and look at Data. Maybe do it 2 times once in 3rd
quarter and once in 4th quarter. If done twice it would cost about $7000.

4. No Idling signage

There is a little sign out already, we can get some more signage. Things are in
the works to make the parking situation better.

5. Parent - Teacher communication

Parents are getting notices on PTC etc. at different times, can we send it all out
at the same time? Make sure teachers are communicating with parents
once a week or at least every other week. Permission slips on google
forms or paper, which is better? Libby lets teachers choose.
