Community Council Mtg Minutes 1/29/19

Approval of December 4, 2018 minutes

Review of 2018-2019 Goals and Expenditures

  • We will not be participating in the Phoenix PLC this year, so we can reallocate those dollars towards our 1-to-1 goal (estimated $30,000 surplus).
  • Perhaps we will purchase the next set of Chrome Books outright, rather than just lease them. This will help us move toward that 1-to-1 goal.
  • We can also look at increasing our classroom aide time.
  • The District will currently pay 53% with our 47% for the purchase/lease of Chrome Labs
  • Mrs. Cooney asked about putting money toward a phonics reading program.

Anticipation of Goals for 2019-2020

Our projection for next year’s funding is about $87,500

Other discussion items:

                Mrs. Ricks has had some major health issues, like unto an annurism, and she is doing miraculously well. Best-case scenario, she might be back around Spring Break, or she may not come back this year. She is currently in the ICU at the University of Utah. A couple of different subs are currently covering her class, and we still don’t know who might end up with the class on a longer-term basis.

                Staffing the new schools will begin very soon. The openings will be offered to those schools are impacted first, before being opened up to the entire district and beyond. They will also be hiring an office staff, etc.
