Community Council Meeting Agenda

In attendance:
● Council Seating Requirements
○ There must be a Principal
○ There must be a Chair (parent member).
○ There must be a Vice Chair.
○ There must be 2 more parents than non-parents.
○ There must be more non-licensed parents than licensed parents.
○ There must be at least one school employee, not including the Principal.
● PRINCIPAL ASSURANCE
For purposes of this Principal Assurance, council means a school community council
consistent with 53G-7-1202, or a charter trust lands council consistent with 53G-7-1205.
● The council at this school has followed the requirements to seat a council for the
current school year, including filling council member positions as necessary,
consistent with 53G-7-1202 for school community councils or 53G-7-1205 for
charter trust land councils.
● The council has updated and adopted Rules of Order and Procedure (or bylaws)
for the current school year that are consistent with 53G-7-1202, 53G-7-1203,
R277-477,
○ and R277-491 for school community councils, or
○ 53G-7-1205, and 53G-7-1203 for charter trust land councils that are not
the charter governing board.

  • The Rules of Order and Procedure are posted on the school website with other
    required school website postings consistent with 53G-7-1304, 53G-7-1203,
    R277-491.
    ● The Council has been trained or will be trained about their responsibilities in the
    law consistent with the sections of Code and Rule included above.
  • The School LAND Trust program will be providing four training opportunities for
    SCC members this month. You may select one of the times below and click on
    the link to access the virtual training on the specified date. Please send these
    dates and links to your council members.
    1. Monday, October 21st @ 6 pm (SCC)
    2. Tuesday, October 29th @ 1 pm (SCC)

3. Wednesday, November 6th @ 3 pm (SCC)
4. Thursday, November 14th @ 7 pm (SCC)

  • Review the 2024-2025 LAND Trust plan with your council to determine if any
    amendments are necessary.
  • CIPA training will be held on November 7 at 4 pm with Mr. Allen Rhees from the
    district digital technology department.
